Stamford Rugby have an exciting opportunity for an experienced rugby coach to manage and run our Women’s rugby team.
Working to a three-year plan, you will be responsible for training the team in preparation for matches and acting as a highly influential figure in the players’ lives. This is an exciting, rewarding and active way of staying in the game and lets you have a direct influence on player performance. You’ll also help with player recruitment and retention plus organising friendlies and entering competitions when the team is established.
Key aspects of the role;
- Lead training sessions:
Plan, deliver and review safe, engaging and effective training sessions that are progressive and fun; role model rugby’s values, and codes of conduct while developing individuals’ skill, confidence and fitness
- Adopt a Player centred approach
Have a clear Coaching and Playing philosophy aligned to the wants and needs of every player in the team
- Learning and Development
Work with the Club Coaching Coordinator to continue and facilitate personal learning and development
Is this role for you?
We’re looking for someone who has the England Rugby Coaching Award (or is willing to earn one), has previous experience of coaching, is knowledgeable about the game and committed to fair play, confident, approachable and good with people.

Training takes place every Thursday from 6pm with match days either Saturday’s or Sunday’s. All applicants will be subject to a DBS check and will have to take the Headcase and Safeguarding eLearning (both online).
